Beginning with their flight from Ireland West Knock, the students settled into the University Residence, their home base for the duration of their stay. Here, they engaged in work placements across a spectrum of hospitality sectors, including hotels, apartment letting offices, and agencies facilitating student exchanges. This hands-on experience provided invaluable insights into the industry and bolstered their professional skills.
Amid their professional pursuits, students also partook in the vibrant festivities of Holy Week Easter Festival, immersing themselves in the cultural heritage of Malaga through spirited parades and celebrations. They navigated the local Carrefour for authentic shopping experiences and indulged in the delightful tradition of enjoying churros dipped in thick hot chocolate for breakfast.
No visit to Malaga was complete without exploring its iconic landmarks. The students marveled at the grandeur of Malaga Cathedral, traversed the historic walls of Alcazaba, and soaked in panoramic views from Gibralfaro Castle. Additionally, they were treated to a mesmerizing Flamenco show, delving into the soul-stirring rhythms of Spanish music and dance.
Venturing beyond Malaga's borders, the students journeyed to the balcony of Europe in Nerja, savouring the breath-taking coastal vistas, and wandered through the charming streets of Frigiliana, soaking in the Andalusian charm.
This immersive experience promised not only to enhance their academic journey but also to foster personal growth as they embraced the rich tapestry of Malaga's culture. From professional placements to cultural excursions, each endeavour contributed to their holistic development, broadening their horizons and nurturing a deeper understanding of the world around them.
