During the factory tour, students observed how jewellery and silverware are produced by skilled craftspeople using both traditional hand techniques and modern machinery. The process involves careful shaping, polishing and finishing, with strong attention paid to quality control at every stage. Students learned how experience, precision and teamwork are essential in maintaining the high standards associated with the Newbridge Silverware brand.

The group also visited the Museum of Style Icons, an important part of the Newbridge Silverware visitor experience. The museum houses original dresses and outfits worn by internationally recognised models, celebrities and public figures, including Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe. Students learned how these garments are preserved and displayed, and how they represent key moments in fashion, film and popular culture.

The visit highlighted how Newbridge Silverware has developed into more than a manufacturing site, combining industry, fashion and tourism in one location.

After our visit to Newbridge Silverware, we also stopped at Newbridge Shopping Centre and Kildare Village, giving students time to explore and enjoy the day. We would like to sincerely thank our teachers, Ms. Griffin, Ms. Doherty and Ms. McNulty, for organising the trip and for their support throughout the day, which made the experience both enjoyable and memorable.

Overall, the trip was both informative and engaging, giving students a greater appreciation for Irish craftsmanship, design and the importance of preserving cultural heritage.
