Mary Duignan, a T.Y student, reached the All-Ireland final of Poetry Aloud, a poetry speaking competition organised by Poetry Ireland and the National Library of Ireland. Over 1700 students from across the country entered this competition and on December 5, 2014, thirty-five of these competed in the final, which was held in the beautiful National Library in Dublin. Mary recited two poems on the day with poise and confidence and there is no doubt that she will be back representing Glenamaddy Community School again in the future.
