The Career Guidance Counsellor in the school is Ms. Hardiman. She aims to meet all students from First Year to Leaving Certificate, either individually or in class, each school year. The Guidance Counsellor adopts an "open door" policy in relation to meeting with students, teachers, parents/guardians and management. Priority will always be given to students in crisis.
First and Second Year: During the school year the Guidance Counsellor takes First Years and Second Years for a module on Subject Choice and Study Skills. Cognitive Ability Tests (CAT) are also carried out on all First Years.
Third Year: Early in the school year Third Year students avail of a Study Skills Seminar. The Guidance Counsellor meets all students in their classes for a module on Senior Cycle Options from February onwards. In March the "Senior Cycle Options Night" is held for Third Years, Transition Years and their parents/guardians.
