The First Year Girls Basketball concluded their season with a fine win over Presentation College on Tuesday 18th April. Unfortunately, the girls did not progress to the final stages of the competition but have consistently improved since October. Their enthusiasm for basketball is admirable and it is hoped that a basketball camp will be run at GCS at the end of Summer. They are pictured here with Ms de Búrca and TY coaches Ava Halvey and Ava Haugh. Missing from photo is 5th year coach, Michaela Gilhooley.

Congratulations to Leaving Cert student Aleesha Gibbons on winning the age 18 World Irish Dancing Championship, held recently in Dublin.  Aleesha had to qualify through various competitions throughout the year to dance in the Worlds. Aleesha started Irish dancing at 5 years of age and to win the Worlds has always been her dream. She dances with the Kelly O' Dowd School of Dancing.
