On Thursday the 11th of May, three GCS students were among a group of students who were honoured by Medtronic for their achievements in either Engineering or Technology subjects in their Junior Cycle. All those awarded had achieved a Distinction in either subject. They were invited to attend an awards evening in Medtronic Parkmore to acknowledge their result. This is an amazing achievement and deserves recognition since only 2.2% of students achieved this grade in Engineering or Applied Technology in 2022. The following GCS students were presented with awards on the night,
Neva Sirola, Patrick Kilheaney and Darragh Kilmartin.

The team was captained by Nadine and Vice-captained by Michaela.
Very well-done girls and we wish you continued success with your club in the future.

Our first-year students have prepared some signs in our school to raise awareness for the Darkness Into Light event which takes place in Glenamaddy this Saturday morning, 6th May. Well done everyone!

Congratulations to Leo Hession-Wright, Neva Sirola and Dabheog O’Flanagan who took part in the Young Translators Competition, organised by the European Commission and Irish Government. Working within a time limit, the three students translated a piece based on the theme “The Heritage of Europe” from English to Irish.
