Congratulations to all our second year Home Economics students on their successful completion of their Interior Design projects. It was a very difficult task to pick this years winners as the standard was incredibly high.
1st prize in Ms. Lynn’s class went to Jenna Marville, runners up were Leah Egan, Ava Joyce and Laura Long. Huge thanks to Supervalu, Glenamaddy for sponsoring Easter eggs.

Congrats to 5th Year student, Gerard Heneghan who has been named as one of twenty finalists in the Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards 2019. These awards recognise the voluntary activities and contribution to their community, of second level students throughout the island of Ireland.

As a finalist Gerard will be presented with an engraved silver medallion and €500, at a gala lunch in the Aviva Stadium on Thursday 28th March. In addition overall winners will receive €1000 for a charity of their choice, a gold medallion and a trophy for their school.

Gerard’s award is in recognition for his fundraising efforts for the First Light charity (formerly the Irish Sudden Death Association). Since 2015 Gerard has raised over €10,000 by organising a 5K run/walk and two very successful barn dances. The school congratulates Gerard and wishes him the very best of luck in Dublin on Thursday. Photo below shows Gerard with Darryn Webster Pramerica, who visited the school recently to present him with his certificate.

Well done to John Duignan and Cathal Moran who attended an awards cermony for the Angus Beef Competition last week. The lads have been working on this since they have been in Transition Year two years ago and they came second overall in the schools competition. The cermony was held in Croke Park. Click here for a link to John and Cathals video and below is a picture from the photo shoot for the finals.

Our work for climate action continues in Glenamaddy C.S. Good luck to all marching in Eyre Square today. Watch this space for further updates on our action projects.
