OnTuesday 23rd May, Glenamaddy Community School raised over €500 to support Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland (AADI). This is a national charity providing highly trained assistance dogs for children with autism and their families. Their dogs are specially trained to provide safety, independence and companionship to children.
Glenamaddy Community School is the first Post Primary School in the country to have the support of AADI, who have provided ‘Bella’ to work alongside one of our students. Having this dog has assisted this student in attending G.C.S. and helped her to feel comfortable and safe. Coincidentally, it has also brought a level of comfort to other children who encounter the dog as well.
Further information about this deserving charity can be found on https://www.autismassistancedogsireland.ie/
