The Religion teachers are organising the Team Hope Shoebox appeal again this year with their 1st and 2nd year students. If anyone would like to fill a box we would be most grateful.
Closing date for receipt of boxes is Friday 11th November.

Well done to Amy Ward, Kate Fahey, Rachel Long, Shannon McHugh and Mary Duignan who recently took part in the Poetry Aloud competition. The girls performed very well and look forward to competing again next year.

Well done to U14 girls football team that had a strong win against Mercy, Tuam with a score line of 3-13 to 0-01 in the first round of the competition. They had a very close encounter which resulted in a draw against Claremorris last Monday. They will now play Claregalway in a home game on Mon 14th November. Go n-eiri libh a chailini.

Well done to Shannon McHugh and Ciara Keaveney who have qualified for the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition in January with their project 'Ashes: An Undervalued Nutrient'. There were 2091 projec submissions and 550 projects qualified.

We wish all the cast and crew of "West Side Story" all the best this week as they finally get to put their show on stage after all the hours of practice. There will be matinee performances on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday as well as shows at 8 on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Well done to our First Year Home Economics students who recently completed their first sewing project. Both teachers were really impressed with the creativity of these young designers.

The TY and 5th year group had a lovely day out in Glasnevin cemetery on Friday 16th of September. The students were given a very interesting tour of the cemetery's famous historical figures such as Parnell, De Valera and Michael Collins. Here are some of the students pictured in Daniel O'Connell's crypt which is adorned by the fabulous round tower built to commemorate 'The Liberator'.

Best wishes to former student Cormac Haslem and current Leaving Cert student Sean Raftery in the All Ireland Minor Final on Sunday. It is great to see our school represented on such a big occasion and we hope the the lads do the business and bring home the Tommy Markham Cup to Galway.
