On Thursday, February 13th, 2025, 5th Year students, LCA1, Transition Year students and teachers embarked on an unforgettable skiing trip to Poland. The adventure began with a guided cultural tour of Krakow, where they explored Wawel Royal Castle, visited Pope John Paul II’s alma mater, and took in the historic atmosphere of Stare Miasto Square. From there, the group traveled to the ski town of Szczyrk, where they spent four days mastering the art of skiing while immersing themselves in Polish culture. Everyone embraced the challenge, gaining new skills and creating lasting memories. Before returning home, the group visited Auschwitz, a profoundly moving and educational experience. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this trip a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was a safe, successful and enriching journey for all involved.

Our opponents on the day were Ballyhaunis CS. We were lucky to progress to the next round of the competition, which will take place after midterm break. The motion for Round 2 is ‘This house would increase the tax on meat to help combat climate change’. We are very proud of our Senior Debating Team and look forward to our next day out.
