Congratulations to our Leaving Cert class of 2024 who had their Graduation Mass on Thursday 23th. It was a great to see the students decked out in their Graduation robes and we wish them well in the upcoming exams and as they head out into the world. Well done to all our students who received awards at the awards cermony held in the hall on Wednesday 22nd. Our main award winners are pictured above, Eoin Collins-Male Sports Star, Courtney Caulfield-Collegian of the Year, Joe Cunnane-Student of the Year, Neva Sirola-Academic Student of the Year and Aisling Madden-Female Sports Star.

The lead-up to the end-of-year exams is a stressful time for students. As part of our Wellbeing Program here at Glenamaddy Community School, all Junior Cycle students will view an online production called "HOW ARE YOU?" in Wellbeing/SPHE class this week. Its aim is to promote the Resilience and Wellbeing of Young People.

Well done to Michaela Gillooly who won the best project award at the recent Scifest competition in TUS Athlone on the 24th of April. Her project titled “Own your cycle, Own your game” will now go forward to compete in the National taking place in November in Dublin. We are very proud of Michaela’s achievements so far.

On Wednesday, April 17th, the Fifth Years travelled to Athenry for a site visit at Coffey Construction. There were lots of presentations and stands. The students spoke to engineers, health and safety officers, IT experts and those involved in apprenticeships. It was a very enjoyable and informative day.

Best wishes to our Leaving Certificate students who are sitting their State LCVP Written Examination on Wednesday, 01/05/2024, and also to Leaving Cert students who will be sitting their Engineering and Construction Studies Bench Tests in the coming weeks.

Well done to our U15 Girls Soccer team on their brillant win in the All Ireland final on Wednesday 24th. They defeated Middleton, Cork in a match played in Limerick. The final score was 4-0 and thanks to Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Davis for all their work in coaching the team. Thanks also to all the supporters who travelled down to cheer on the girls.
